I need command line player for h264 with the source.(modification possible), compilable in Windows.

x264 can play h.264 video stream? or it's only for encoding.

I have videoLan(version 0.8.2) , but it can't play .264, why?

I've tried "Basic AVC Decoder' in C, it don't support CABAC coded video. it's possible to integrate it with a CABAC module, and how?

thanks for your help! :D :D

:search: :readfaq:

there is a list of available h.264 decoders in the h.264 sticky

videolan can decode h.264 via ffmpeg (as mplayer), but propably simply cant parse raw avc streams (in contrary to mplayer)

In that sticky thread there is mentioned a Celtic Druids build of ffdshow. Where is that one? I found no link whatsoever!

I want a Open Source decoder H.264 (Main Profile, CABAC, long_term Predection)
I've tested with VIDEOLAN, but it doesn't work, why?
VIDEOLAN uses ffmpeg as CODEC, it's because ffmpeg?
can I find another OpenSource decoder if ffmpeg don't supports H.264 MP?
thank you!

they have the same codec: ffmpeg
anybody knows FFMPEG can truly decode H.264 Main Profile?

It can't decode interlaced material, which is part of Main Profile if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure if there's anything else which could be considered important that it can't handle in Main Profile. It does what I need it to do anyway...
