Removing subtitles?

I recently downloaded The Compleat Beatles BBC Documentary.avi. It has spanish subtitles onscreen throughout the video. I have converted it to IFOs. But kept the avi. Is there any way to reauthor this video to remove the subtitles? Any help would be appreciated.
