I have two halves of a movie (GoNY) encoded with Divx 5 and AC3 audio into AVI container. Note that this movie originally comes from two DVDs as it is 2:50 in length. I have attempted to rip and encode these two discs in two methods, both resulting in asynch audio.
1) DGIndex - When loading all VOBs from DVD1 and DVD2, and then creating a project file, the resulting full length movie is out of synch with audio for only the second half.
2) Nandub - After encoding each half of the movie separately, each with AC3 as their audio source, I used Nandub to join them. The resulting movie was out of synch with audio for only the second half.
Reading some others posts about similar problems, but using mpeg, I assume my audio and video are of different lengths for at least the first half of my movie. If this is correct, and I'm not interested in chopping frames from the movie (unless its only a few), can anyone make a suggestion about how to extend/chop the audio so that it is in synch?
I could be incorrect about the problem from the start, if you have any advice, it would be appreciated.
BTW, GKnot 0.35 used to encode and the full length movie is about 2.5GB in size after either method of joining. (Does the AVI 2.0 spec allow >2GB files?)
