Hi everyone. I have produced a final DVD of something and it's looking great. I've tested it on a few computer DVD players and a few stand-alone DVD players and it works fantastic.

Now I just want to see what happens if it's played on a DVD player in a different region because I am selling copies of this film all over the world.

I am hoping that it is region free disk and will play everywhere but obviously I need to make sure. I encoded the DVD with TMPGEnc Plus and turned it into a DVD with TMPGEnc DVD Author and whenever it asked me for a region I selected PAL.

What's the easiest software to download a free trial of which can let me see what an American or a European or a Madagascanian or a Deepest Mongolian will see when they put my disk into their stand alone DVD player?

Thanks :)

Thanks for the feedback, Feedback.

But does anyone know anything about the other regions? All the DVD software I've used only gives the options for NTSC and PAL. What about the other 4 regions?

If someone orders a DVD from South America or Africa then what are my options?

All advice/info/personal experience/wisdom is welcome. Thanks.

for further information on region coding and format please see this section of the DVD FAQ: [1.10] What are "regional codes," "country codes," or "zone locks"? (http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html#1.10)

if you produce your dvd as region free, then your only concerns are with the NTSC/PAL format. here in australia, most (if not all) dvd players can play both ntsc and pal material, and iirc correctly this is the same for other PAL regions. however, as feedback mentioned, this is not usually the case for NTSC regions.

in addition to this, is you are not getting your final product professionally mastered, there will also be issues with blank media and standalone players.

good luck
