This can't be! I refuse to believe it! Why should I have to encode to some other format using some other program first just because the video and audio are separated?! Please tell me it's not true.
I've been tooling around with WMEncoder9 to rip DVDs to my Portable Media Center but I can only load a file that has audio. For instance, if I use DVD Decrypter to rip a VOB and load it it works just fine but if I use Robot4Rip and demux the VOB & AC3 file, in WMEncoder9 I can only load a video file with no audio or vice-versa. Is it possible to load a video AND load an audo file to be encoded with it? I can't see how! I read the help. The command line syntax looks like it only supports one input file. The dialog for "multiple sources" is talking about either appending multiple files together or streaming live audio with pre-recorded video and crap like that.
I ripped a Flash animation "movie" in a mode that grabs every frame but no audio, then I ripped it as a slide-show with audio. Then I demuxed the audio and encoded it together with the original video to XviD using GordianKnot and let WMP10 do the transcoding to WMV. I'm writing a Portable Media Center guide and this is WAY too many steps to go through considering that there is no reason to ever create the XviD file in the first place.
