can't forward divx file on sony player

When i try to forward a divx file made with Autogk/divx 5 on my Sony DVP-NS52P stand alone player it says it can't do it although it plays fine. I burned it straight onto dvd-r with some shareware dvd writing program. Is this the norm, is it the player isn't capable or is it the software? :stupid:

using the advanced search for "divx autogk seek" i found this thread, which may or may not help.

I have a Sony DVP-NS32, this unit has no trouble with FF etc.
I believe you have a more expensive type.
I burnt my DVD with Divx AVI's on el cheapo DVD+R with a NEC 1300A burner.
