hello, i have the eagles - hotel california dvd audio, my car dvd player doesnt play dvd audio, but it does do DTS
if anyone can tell me the process and steps involved to take a dvd audio disc and make it into a DTS disc, either as an audio only or a regular dvd with blank video and dts audio.
i also have a few dts only audio dvds, how would you go about making a copy of those?
also what is the difference between a dts CD and a dts DVD? i think its possible to have a dts cd but dont know much about it all, still trying to learn

DTSCDs or DVD-Video with DTS track?

there is no legal way to rip a DVD-Audio ... some guides explaining how to record the DVD-Audio tracks with a 6 channel soundcard, but this is very time consuming, at last you need a DTS encoder (take a look at surcode (http://www.surcode.com/low/main/news6.htm))

the format is DVD-Video I guess -> the same way as all DVD-Video

If your car "dvd" player can really play dvd's then you can just put your Eagles DVD "Audio" disc in and play it - most DVD-Audio disks have DVD-Video as well - and so does the Eagles:Hotel California DVD-Audio. Now it may be possible that your car "dvd" player can play other dvd's but not this one. If that's the case, it's probably due to the DVD-Video portion of DVD-Audio discs usually having the music tracks in the menus, not as separate chapters - maybe your player skips over the menus - what brand / model is it anyway? (I might want one lol). If this is the case, you would have to basically author a new DVD by putting the DTS tracks ripped from the DVD-Audio disc menus into chapters. If your car "dvd" player really only plays DTS cd's then you will have to convert it.

I would take the DTS track off of the DVD-Video part of the disk, convert to 6 wave files, re-sample from 48K to 44.1K, re-encode to DTS and burn on a CD. Just follow the guide for how to make a DTS cd (see below for link).i also have a few dts only audio dvds, how would you go about making a copy of those?
same way basically, but rip the cd to a save file, decode to 6 waves, and etc.

read the BeSure guide - How to create DTS or Dolby Digital audio CDs from AC3 files http://doom9.org/BeSure.html
