Another petition that will do nothing?
Well, I agree with you Sirber--it's unlikely to have much impact, but it doesn't hurt to sign. More importantly, it helps to get the word out to not buy into the DRM lies and not buy DRM'ed products. I'm thinking about doing a T-shirt design and donating the proceeds to the EFF. How about something like:

"Consumers Revolting Against Pigolopolistic Products"

CRAPP

with a big "no" sign over the DRM acronymn.

Any other ideas?

I signed anyway. Everyone knows that DRMed OS will totally sucks. Long live linux!!!

I think this is the only effective course of action. You can sign all the petitions you like, but as long as vendors are making money selling protected content, DRM isn't going anywhere.

I don't think it makes much difference whether it's in the OS or not. If it weren't, the vendors would just embed it into a custom media player -- like Apple has done with iTunes. There's nothing preventing DRM from being implemented on top of Linux. If Linux continues to grow in popularity, you can bet the major vendors will cook something up for Linux.
