Hello.

The following relates to a Grundig GDP 3304 DVD Player.

I am trying to play some TV episodes that are xvid "avi" files. I am un-shure what version or any other details about the encoding (If someone can tell me how to find out the info I can post it :) )

I am burning the files with Nero (as a data file) using Taiyo Yuden white top DVD's on a Pioneer A05 burner.

When I but the disc into the Grundig DVD it says that there has been a major error and to replace the disc. All other disc's (dvd and cd) play fine.

Any help greatly appreciated.

P.S. This is my first post so im sorry if I forgot any important details.

Hi mrsx, welcome to the Doom9 forum.

I must admit I'm more interested in the reasons why "I am un-shure what version or any other details about the encoding"!

To me this would suggest you have not generated the encodes yourself from either your own DVD, VCD or TV capture.... I presume you have read our forum rules (rule 6 in particular).

Personally speaking, I am not familiar with the Grundig GDP 3304. However, if its anything like the Grundig GDP 3300 then it's likely to be fitted with something from the ESS Vibratto range, neither of which supports Qpel or GMC.

It would help if you could confirm the make and model of the chip-set in your player.

Cheers

Sorry.

My friend has a Topfield PVR5000 and has given me the TV episodes. I can ask him for the details if required.

I have the top of the DVD and I can see a:
Pantera-2 chip by media matics with the following numbers: VT114AF
NDV8501B2
VS0137AN

Does this help?
