One of my favorite movies has a few seconds of irritating audio so I decided to fix it. I demuxed the vobs and used BeSweet via the BeSweet GUI (by DD & Dg) to convert the AC3 to a WAV. I opened the WAV in GoldWave and did everything I wanted to do and went back to the BeSweet GUI to convert the WAV back to AC3 and here the problems arise.
The wave was and is 48k, but when I try to remux I'm told that the AC3 file is 32k rather than 48k and it is rejected. I tried everything I could imagine but I could never get a 48k output file. I was finding the BeSweet GIU very unfriendly anyway so I tried BeLight. It reported that the ac3enc.dll was missing. Sure enough, it's not included with BeSweet, so in the course of looking for it I found a message from the author of BeSweet that the ac3enc.dll is basically worthless; that it produces poor results and is only there for testing purposes.
I thought that converting this file straight to WAV and back would be a cakewalk but it's been more like a mud wrestle. What should I try next?
