View Full Version : In-loop filter in the zones configurations?

Is it possible? Is it MPEG 4 compilant?

If yes it would help a lot in many of my anime encodes. The thing is that in some scenes with wilful noise or "static trash" (I can't find a better word...) in front of moving objects, the in-loop filter smooth all out or make the things look dirt by smooth only half for example. But for all the rest of the episode/movie the in-loop filter is highly efficient and indispensable.

So I want to temporaly disable for x problematic frames and after enable it again.

For example: Original (http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/6299/original9tz.png) - x264 Q22 w/ inloop (http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/6193/x264inloop6wi.png)

I see the file is named x264inloop6wi. Does that mean that the deblocking strength you used is 6 ? If so, it's imho far too much, and using default ( ie deblocking strength 0 ) through the whole movie should do just fine.

Apart from that, adding inloop to zones would be possible, and would be standard compliant.

Some heavy denoising would be welcome :)

Ugh.. the original name of the file was "x264_in-loop.png", the imageshack shoud have modified it... but the in-loop filter streng in this example is 0, no more or less.

I want to preserve this "noise", its part of the original image. As you can see the blank points are only in the darker parts, so it's put artificialy in that. The rest of episode is a normal HQ anime.

Old film effect, noise transmitions efects in a monitor inside the movie... things like that are completely altered by in-loop filter. So I want to turn-off it in these situations.
