Hello, I'm using the "Scenarist NT & the big 3 new" DVD backup guide and I seem to be running into trouble. First here is what I am using...

Programs Used:
BatchCCEWS 0.9.1.5
EclCCE 2.67.0.27
DoItFast4U 1.4.0.0
NuMenu4U 2.0.0.14
ScenAid 1.0.0.0
Automate_Scenarist 1.3.0.0
Scenarist 3.0.1.0
DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0

Ok, I set up the programs as close as I could to what was in the guide but seem to run into trouble with Scenarist. Here's what I do.

Rip DVD to hd using DVD Decrypter.
Load DVD iso into Daemon Tools virtual drive.
Run up DIF4U.
[Automatically Opens] NuMenu
[Automatically Opens] DVD2AVI (Quickly Opens many times)
[Automatically Opens] CCE SP
[Automatically Opens] Scenarist

When Scenarist window will say
importing
Searching for scenarist window
... (seems to take awhile)
Starting Compile
Searching for scenarist window (stays here for awhile and in i checked task manager to find that the computer is idle.)

Then an error box opens that says: "Error: Access violation 0x096F93F3 (Tried to read from 0xFFFFFFFF), program terminated" I press OK.
Then an error box opens that says: "Error - Unable to resolve Start button; Press Start and then OK to Proceed"
Then an error box opens that says: "Error - Unable to close scenarist; close manually then press OK to proceed"

And thats it. Just completely stops there. I read in another forum that Scenarist 3.1 has some problems, not sure if thats why its not working. If you need anymore detail, just let me know.

Thankyou for your help.

hi pasteypete and welcome to the forum,

hmm ... sounds like an issue with automate_scenarist.exe

there are a few things we can try but first, i would highly recommend updating a few of your programs:

scenaid: update to 1.7.0.2
batchcce: update to 0.9.1.6h
numenu4u 2.0.19

where are you reading the automate_scenarist.exe version from? the reason i ask, is i have version 2.1.0.2 in my numenu4u program directory, and this appears to be where the process is failing.

cheers

numenu 2.0.19 also has a new setting in the Scenarist Tab - Pause numenu and use scenarist manually
This will basically pause numenu until you have finished using scenarist - check the Help file for more info.
If scenarist fails on the import/compile then there is a script error. However the access violation you reported is common with scenarist 3.0.1 so don't use it - roll back to either 2.7 or 3.0
