x.264 VFW

i am trying to rip a dvd to h.264 or some version of it

i have used gordian knot and meGUI but the files i get only work with a direct show codec in windows media player

i have downloaded the VFW codec on this site but i can never open the file in programs like virtual dub

in ffdshow VFW configuration enable h264 decoding

one more question though
the video when i use the VFW decoder is upside down and inverse

any ideas?

ffdshow > vfw > decoder tab > output > flip video
should do it maybe - not sure

Tried on my freshly reformatted PC that has no codecs on it at all just ffdshow and image was fine.
What version (date) of ffdshow are you using ? Any dodgy old codecs or a codec pack installed ?
