I am interested in Gordian Knot(not auto) since it support x264. But I found that the latest release is old(Feb 2005), thus turned off a little bit. Is the development of gk ceased? Or officially Autogk replaced the gk already? I notice that the development on Autogk is more rapid...

No, AGK has not and will never "officially replace" GK. However len0x is obviously more interested in AGK, so GK development is *slow*.
On the other hand GK is a quite mature program and perfectly useable with x264. Just because the latest release is old doesn't mean it's bad.

Thank for the reply :) I am just a newbie in video converting, but I prefer program like gk, because it let me have more control(and understanding) of the procedure in video converting. But the autogk hide everything of the codec setting make me uncomfortable(just my own feeling, I know that many users like the simplicity of autogk). Hope the program creator(len0x?) continue much of the progress with gk.

I totally agree. I'd like to continue to use GK but I'd like to know if it works with DivX 6 and if there's any plans to make it able to encode multiple audio tracks on the same AVI file (now that DivX supports that)

It doesn't.

I don't understand. GK has been able to encode and mux up to 2 audio streams into every supported container for a long long time.

Sorry to hear GK has lower priority...
There have been a few updates on DGIndex and DivX which warrant a new version of GK IMHO
(For I believe it is e.g. not recommended to use newer versions of DGIndex with GK 0.35, but if I missed the boat please enlighten me :stupid: )

Recent versions of DGMPGDec work perfectly.
Afaik GK uses dgdecode.dll to read d2v files, meaning that even a change in d2v file layout won't break GK. Just make sure to always update DGIndex and dgdecode.dll together.

correct, GK doesn't rely on structure of D2V files and is able to work with any version.
