Hi guys I don't know how many of you out there know about this or not but I take part in a project called Folding@home. It is a GREAT project that benifits all of man kind as a whole. If you don't know anything about it please go here (http://folding.stanford.edu/) and read about it. It only takes a couple minutes of your time. If it sounds like something you are willing to take part in please do so!!!!

Have you had a relative or known anyone that has had a horrible disease and wished there was something you could have done about it? While not a quick easy fix this is your opportunity to help make a difference. I started this when I was reading on alzheimer's (my grandmother passed because of it) and I think it's the most wonderful thing. Help make a difference!!!!

It works great. No icons or anything else!!!! Go here to download a pre-configured setup! (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=231247) This will install in the background of your computer and you will never know it's there. It only takes advantage of your computers idle time. I play battlefield 2 on my system all the time and I never turn it off. I actually run two instances of it because I have a dual opteron rig. Even with two instances running I still have 0% loss while playing my games.

Please take just a couple seconds to read more on this and help everyone you've ever cared about out!!!! Team 32 is the team i'm on and the one that is preset in the downloadable install. but distribuited computing is a good things applied to science project

we had "some" (many...) servers at works and only occasionally the full cpu is used, the remaing time (cpu clock) is used for seti and folding

all is businness , just hope that "something" will go to a good cause :rolleyes:

I would but it causes masive system instabilty under all settings
I gave it a full week of playing, not worth the effort, I don't having faith in the human race to give that much effort

omg that's the weakest rule but ok. And no noone owns these results seeing as it is for a university. They post all their findings for everyone. The program does not create system instability unless your computer is unstable to start with. I have ran it 24/7 for weeks strait with not a single problem. It isn't going to be used to find some biological weapon. That's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. They don't need to know how protien folds to make a weapon that kills people good lord. Stop reading your comics.

It's a great way to make a difference. If you don't want to then fine. But please don't sit here and fill this thread with your crap on how it isn't good unless you have some form of experties in the field.... which you don't. It's non-profit and for the better of human kind. If you don't have faith in that then maybe your mother should have held you more often. I can't believe the amount of stupidity that exists. Who knows.... It could maybe even find a cure for you.

You need to seriously overhaul your PR skills. Screaming at people, insults, breaking forum rules, that's not the way to go.
