I'm putting together a home theater system on a mac mini with 57in hitachi 16:9. Encoding with nero and i've not cropped or resized.

I've read about sar, and was wondering if quicktime can use sar to correctly display movies the way my dvd player displays dvds.

Want dvd res, is auto cropping good, and autoresizing with nero. I've noticed the higher bitrate the higher the autoresize. my rate is 1mbit.

Last question is whether it would be smart to wait for recode to improve before mass producing, for example the low audio problem and quality issures. Thanks

i would say it makes no sense at all to not crop

nerodigital avc should already be one of the best video codecs existing, so i dont think there is the need to wait to use it because of quality issues

about the low audio, not sure, but i think its already fixed!?

I've noticed that nero sometimes autocrops like 2 from the sides when it doesn't need to. I'm trying to understand why I can't view the avc's at the same size my hardware dvd player does. Is there a good way to do this for every dvd? It seems like the ratio is greater and the hardware players resize to be 16:9. I don't quite understand how to enable sar.
