hi,
Apart from the fact like i posted many times earlier arround here that the original pressed movie (clean surface no scratches wot so ever) pauses on some scene changes at specific places (not-random), now gives rebuilder me this low bitrate shit... ex.
[21:27:44] Phase I, PREPARATION started.
- "Steal Space from Extras" mode is enabled.
- VTS_01: 2.682.721 sectors.
-- Scanning and writing .D2V file
-- Processed 176.070 frames.
-- Building .AVS and .ECL files
- Reduction Level for DVD-5: -25,5%
- Overall Bitrate : 500Kbs
- Space for Video : -1.105.308KB
- Movie improvement from extra reduction = ,0%
- HIGH/LOW/AVERAGE Cell Bitrates: 500/500/500 Kbs
[21:30:44] Phase I, PREPARATION completed in 3 minutes.
the movie contains multiple pg's just like starwars 4 5 & 6
Now, i suddenly get those weird insane low bitrates with rb 0.93 in addition with cce 2.70.02 sp. I ask myself if this bug existed in earlier versions aswell? Cause the quality of my starwars collections wos excellent. Ive tried to remove 1 out of 2 pgc's through dvd remake but to no vail. If some1 woud be so kind to clear this up for me.
tnx in advance,

Ive did some research on those pauses at specific spots in the movie and it appears to be an problem due due to the ILV (interleaving) in some cells across multiple pgc's!! Ill give vobblanker an try to resolve the issue, but could some1 tell me how i can config vob blanker in such an way so i can re-edit and save an full dvd-9 movie? I only can edit dvd9 movies but only save/build the movie up to a dvd5 size for some reason.
many tnx,

Do you have ILVU_Encode=0 set in your INI file? It sure looks like it. It appears the ILVU is not being encoded -- and it (as a total) adds up to more than will fit on a DVD-5.
On the other hand, if you are using the freeware version -- then that is the cause (without even needing the setting). There are certain ILVU discs that the freeware version can't handle.

well hi jdobbs himself in flesh :p ,
dvdshrink for that matter doesnt handle those specific titles with ilv not very good aswell if that comforts u. But ive looked this ILVU_encode=0 command up in the ini file but didnt find it, so i added the command to see wot happens but no help there 2, not even when i put an 1 behind the = to put it on/off right..? Wot ive done is trying deleting (hide) an extra pgc through dvdremake pro wich had probebly some interleaving cells aswell (if not all) and all of an sudden it worked like an charm through rebuilder. The compression ration wos sudden arround 70% almost 80 with arround 4000 Kb/sec as bitrate and with no stutter/pauses anymore... :sly: At the end after an long struggle ur program seems to be an nice piece of software after all hehe (not that i ever doubted the pottential of ur 1001110011's u put toghter ;) )
And again :thanks: for sharing ur thougts regarding this issue.

Are you using the Pro or Free version?

What version of DVD-RB are you using?
Version 1.00 RC4 will be out very soon. It has some very important changes. Try it again with that one -- I think you may be able to do it without any manipulation with DVDRemake.

Currently iam using only public versions :( none pro ones at the moment. Ive done blade 3, alexander, with version 0.93b (beta) freeware) so far. But if u woud be so kind to provide me with an pro or final release :d i woud be glad to try to encode the movie again. Iam keeping the movie on my HD untill i find an sollution to recode it whitout cutting out the multiple pgc's and above all to see if the movie play's smoothly whitout annoying pauses. Those pauses only seems to appear when i transcode the movie through dvdshrink. Jdobbs, i like u to ask if i did fixed those pauses/stutter in some scene changes cause dvd-rb encoded the whole movie (ILV-CELSS inclusief) ?? Whereas dvdshrink (so ive read somewhere the net) skips ILV-cells. If it helps, the movies i mentiod in my threads i recently posted arround the forum r done with 0.93b. Yesterday ive re-encoded ALEXANDER wich had multiple pgc's whitout any problems. Although, it was an challenging task for even CCE 2.70.02 sp . If i looked carefully i saw some artifacts and noise arround the edges of the letters in the movie not arround subtitles u see. The reduction level wos 53% bitrate = 3.642/1.536/2.276. Now, iam already using undot(), deen() and IDCT=7 3 passes. Is there anything else i can do to improve CQ? If i need more filters , could u advice me some and their usage please. Ofcourse the filters has to work with avisynth 2.55 if possible. Also, wich mpeg2 dll should i use if there is 1 better than the one wich is already included in the dvd-rb package ofcourse.
