What threads do I look for?

I just lost my cocky attitude. I thought I could decript and back up anything. Wrong. My latest try had 3 folders instead of 2. VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS, and the new and improved JACKET_TS. Nothing I owned touched it. Latest shrink, latest DVDDecriptor, and it wouldn't let me copy even one vob. I haven't been on Doom9 for several months. It is interesting that the little note at the top of my screen says I've been here last on 27 June. I haven't, and my calendar says it's July 30th. I hope nobody is using my login. Anyway, if one of you kind souls will point me to the latest threads relating to this apparently new way the big guys have found to keep us little guys down, I'd appreciate it.

Sorry, I was running on memory. I believe that it was JACKET_J not JACKET_TS.

are you sure its not a JACKET_P (http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t148301.html) folder?
if so, it is only used to display a picture in dvd players which use this information.

most likely your inabilty to decrypt this disc is because it is badly scratched/damaged, or there is a copy protection used that dvd decrypter cannot handle. if the latter is the case, you could read through these threads for some ideas of how to procede:

also try searching the forum with the dvd's title.

The disk was brand new out of the box. No obvious scratches. It played perfectly in my player. The oposite is usually true. Normally my computer will see around imperfections that my player will not.

The threads you sent me to didn't cheer me up. It seems that a lot of folks are running into frustrating problems.

I haven't tried DVDFab yet. I plan to download it this morning. On some disks my decriptor will give me endless errors but on this disk, decriptor wouldn't even start on it.

If Fab works, I'll put in a note.
