first of i used the following progs decrypter, dvdshrink, nero (all-up-to-date).
The movie is Blade 3 trinity (multi-angled) i transcoded with as compression ratio arround 50% (just below 60). I afterwards burned it on my nec-3500A on a benq dvd-r (mediacode sony 08 D1) some media with wich is supercompatible according to DVDrHelp site. And the darn thing stutters everytime arround chapter 4 and some other very same places across the movie in my stand alone wich is an Cyberhome ch-dvd 402 but plays fine on my lite-on ltd163d dvd-rom in my pc. Ive got an strong feeling it has something to do with the fact that it is multi-angled movie. Bcause i did Team america & the exorcist the beginning wich were big movies too with compression ratio iarround 50% burned it on same media using same program nero and have had NO PLAYBACK PROBLEMS wot-so-ever on both stand-alone and dvd-rom!!! Now ive done multi-angled movies like starwars 4,5,6 before and had no problems actualy when watching the movie!!?? So, please could some1 clearify things for me, still an bug perhaps in dvdshrink regarding multi angled movies? Ive tried to fix the problem by re-author the whole dvd by taking the first angled movie only to see if it woud solve the problem, but no vail. I also used rebuilder with no compression setting just to rebuild the whole movie again but also no sollution. So, my guess is something went wrong allong the transcoding process throug dvdsrhink. If possible, is there any other way i can fix the stutter problem through the movie blade 3 trinity? If not any thoughts on wots causin that behaviour woud be much appreciated.
Much tnx in advance,

oh, i forget to mention wot the stutter behaviour precisely is.
It pauses the movie for an brief moment like 1 à 2 seconds (during that time ive got no audio aswell) and than continiues. Sometimes its less than 1 sec.
VEry VERY VERY ANNOYING
Tnx in advance,

Most likely bad media or burned to fast. Does it run fine on your PC from HD? I seriously doubt it's got anything to do with multi-angle. And NO it's not Shrink either cause it did my copy of that film fine and also DVD Rebuilder should work, right?!

hi,
tnx for the reaction firstly,
like i stated in my previous post, yes it does playback fine from my HD and DVD-rom station aswell for that matter thats the whole weird thing!!! I SERIOUSLY doubt it is bad media cause ive tested on other QUALITY media like VERBATIMA's aswell but the same thing happend . And on an side note i like u to know that i write ALL my dvd movies on 4X to play safe on that part. Btw if it were bad batch woudnt i have written all my movies bad ever since i bought the spindel? It has been known before that certain software dvd applications causes different behaviours depending in stand-alone players , like subtitles that doesnt appears, audio/video out of synch. Oh, ive tried the movie on my ps2 aswell and the darn image froze AGAIN AT THE VERY SAME SPOT not random. Could it be an BAD RIP from decrypter perhaps? And again ive wrote movies Before and after Blade 3 on the VERY same media and i found NO problems playing them back on all of my players (ps2 included). Maybe faulty data wich dvdsrhink couldnt transcode properly? Iam just thinking loudout. I also noticed allot of scratches on the original dvd-movie for wots it worth for and sometimes need dvd decrypter to put in dummy files or something from wot ive saw in the log file during the rip process!! Could those dummy files enterfeering the encode/transcode process wich results in stutterings/pauses etc...? Anyways i still got the dvd5 movie of blade 3 on my hard drive and i dunno wot to do about it to get rid of these nasty annoying pauses :( . oh and before i forget i did the main MOVIE of blade 3 twice through dvdshrink and the same happend again  there4 it must have been an bad rip in my opinion :scared: Isnt there no way to fix that without encoding the whole movie again??

ok, the orignal pressed movie wos to blame for alll allong dammit. Ive borrowed blade 3 pal R2 original pressed dvd from some1 and it appears that the problem is the movie itself. It gave me the same freez at the exact point i mentiond of before when i playback the movie. I checked the dvd on scratches and such but it was an nice clean ORIGINAL DVD9 no less  and it still refused to play the movie smooth at those VERY SAME EXACT POINTS like i had experienced with my dvd+r copy that i shrinked. So guys, i couldnt believe wot ive read somewhere the net... but according to some ppl wich posted this stuff claims they're mastering the dvd's in such a different ways nowdays that finaly results in playback issues in certain dvd stand alones (not-all)!!!! Not all cause i tested my copy in my brothers PROVISION dvdplayer of about 59euro arround 40 pounds it doesnt appears to freez pause  Ive got an few out of an couple of hundred of those movies (even dvd5's) that has that problem  !!! And to think i almost bought myself another dvd-player :sly: gosh. So to conclude the problem lies within the original movies sometimes if u ask me...!?! I hope u guys R me with in understanding this matter and knows of any sollution to overcome this problem.

If it helps dear jdobbs, its not an question wot u can enhance to ur program to overcome that problem but its rather an problem with ILV compatibility on some stand-alone i think. Cause like i stated before i had problems 2 while reading the original CLEAN SCRATCH-FREE pressed disk aswell during playback at those very specific spots ofcourse. So in an way ur nice proggie fixed that annoying problem :D.

I am actually surprised you got dvd shrink, and decrypter to decrypt and shrink this movie. I am trying to do it, and I cannot seem to get past half way through the flick. Shrink it first won't work halfway it stops with an error, and then I tried the decrypter first and the same thing happened half way through it stopped ( retried about a 100 times). I usually only do the decrypter first if it's a hard bugger to backup, because it takes so darn long.
Edit: I am gonna try using the DVDfab decrypter
I should note it was the "Blade Trinity Extended version"
Also Decrypter error was Fail to read sector 2070928 no seek complete, and then I retried for about two hundred times, and a few ignores. Then canceled. Waiting on DVD fabs results this one seems to take forever, and I can't tell how much time is left. It just about makes you fall asleep with nothing to look at. :)

I cant help u there, it coud be many factors why u get errors.
Firstly, make sure uve got the latest up-to-date of every piece of software
dvdshrink 3.2.15 decrypter = 3.5.4.0 and leave everything on its defaults if u not sure how to config. Ive got an pretty stable computer i build myself so far with an clean windows always up-to-date protected as much i can with anti spy, trojan, virrus software. So.. Realy, make sure ur system is well good configurated and see if nothing conflicts with eachother. My guess is ur working with an bad Overclocked CPU if u ask me. And if uve got knowledge in how to install an fresh system u realy should take a backup of an GOOD OS System with password protection so u always can restore ur computer to the way it was before if u smells something is fishy.
I hope i was of any help to u,
urs kab

kabukijo, thanks for the info. I do have the latest shrink, and decrypter. Maybe my cpu is running to hot. I did unhook a fan because of noise, BUT this error happens exactly at the same place everytime on shrink. Soooo we'll see what dvdfab does. I just wonder if the extended version is different. IT's not even about the movie now it's personal. :D I got so much time invested in this back up.
Edit: Got it! Ok first time using DVD fab and it worked flawlessly except for my brain. Anyways used DVD fab put in my partitioned secondary hardrive the movie. Then tried to open it and couldn't for the life of me. So I finially remember I could open it using Shrink so I did so. Shrink went smoothly actually seemed faster than normal. Then reauthored it took out everything but the main movie 1 the longest one. Then went into compression settings and unchecked all the subtitles and then all the commentarys and all the audio except 5.1 for surround sound. Got the movie in 100 percent no video compression with surround, and burned with decrypter at 4x speed for performance. So tonight I will watched it and see if there is any glitches. Anyways this forum Rocks! especially the guys and gals that put their master brains to this and have been very helpfull to me. If it weren't for you guys my dvd burner would be useless. Thanks all!
UPDATE: Well I watched it on my pc, and it would pause at times. I think my cpu was just running to hot ( maybe I ought to rehook up the noisey fan, never had a problem with my last computer case). Or the dvd-r's ( smartbuy 8x) are not that great, but I put it in my living room rig and it works perfectly. So A OK!
