Hi,

yesterday a user at the german doom9 forum reported problems with Movie and Menus Only-Mode in connection with ReJig: The extras are still in the backup but without audio.
I can confirm this. I've tried it with three different movies both with v1.00RC2 and RC3, always the same result: existing extras with missing sound.
And before somebody will post, I'm talking about extras with size bigger than 50MB. ;)

Taking a look at the segment viewer shows this:

All titlesets are blanked out, segment viewer crashed a few secondes later with runtime error 28.

Okay I thought maybe a bug with the combination Movie and Menus Only-Mode and ReJig, therefore I've tried another movie with CCE (OPV)
Result: All extras were blanked, but final size of the backup was only 2.67 GB. Seems to me that RB calculates with the size of all files (Main movie and Extras) and doesn't correct final size.
Size of extras in the source folder was 1.66 GB plus 2.67 GB = 4.33 GB :confused:

IMHO it makes no sense that RB tries to find the right Q value for VTS 2, 9, 10 , 11 and 12, because these are the extras which should be blanked.

That's because the prediction is done before the extras are removed. At some point I need to move the prediction code into the ENCODE phase.

So at the moment I shouldn't use CCE/OPV with movie and menu only, because staying with my example
- Analyzing VTS_04 for optimal Q factor.
-- TargetSize (sectors):1.332.599

will give you an undersized result.
A possible solution might be, if movie and menu mode is selected, look for the largest VTS and ignore all others?

Probably not but not completely sure. As I mentioned in another thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=662494#post662494) I normally preprocess my sources but then there are no extras left like trailers which are in in this example.
But I can redo this tonight with an absolut virgin source. ;)

Did you try it with ReJig? On a normal fast PC it takes less than half an hour.

Definitely don't use OPV with Movie & Menus or Slideshow -- it will miscalculate. Movie-Only will work, though.

Okay, thanks for the advice.
The only mode I use is "normal" mode, but good to know if others do have problems.

Just finished the fourth movie with ReJig, this time Bourne Identity (PAL), no preprocessing => Extras are there, audio not. :confused:
But on the other hand, who still cares about ReJig? :p

I use ReJig all the time in testing. It's a really good tool for getting to the REBUILD fast. I also use it when I need a backup really fast.

From time to time I bug Nic so he releases a new version :D

Seems like he already found a way of getting ReJig to make VOB to VOB process without the MPV pass... but I think he needs more incentive ;) :D
