I'm into Gordian Knot for a month :D Therefor I just did DVD to DVDR recoding backups. Now I'm discovering new exciting features every backup. Today the Set Credits Start button got my attention. I know what's it for and I know that XviD handle the different credits encoding kinda intern, so no trim selected. But here's my question:

Is it necessary to select my backup.avs at the Frame Server Credits selection in the GK Control Panel too???
By default the Frame server and output is selected, clear, but is the Select Frame Server option just needed for DivX or in gerneral? I ask cause I have no special backup_credits.avs, but I guess this isn't needed cause the credit start frame is already selected in the XviD zone options.

Btw, I did :search: and just found a Thread linking to doom9 guides where my question isn't answered.

Thx guys!

It's true, using the Credits Start sets the range from your start point to the end of the video - as long as there's nothing you want to keep sharp after them there's no need for any further settings.

I've done 2 encodes, one with the backup.avs selected at the Frame Server and Frame Server Credits selection and one just with the Frame Server avs selected. As far as I could tell there's no difference in both encodes. Both have very low bitrates as the credits rollin' and look nice during movie play :D
So I guess it doesn't matter wether I select this option or not.
thx
