I recently downloaded GK 0.35 and installed it. But, there is no way I can get it started from robot4rip which did not even let me start. I have read some of the sticky threads, but they just mention the problem and its fix yet do not illustrate how. I have tried to find the older version I have been using, but they are all gone. I downloaded Gk 0.28.7 which appears to be the only older version available in the net at this time. But, it does not give me xvid option. I am stuck. I need some help.
I would really appreciated if someone can show me how to get GK 0.35 started, or show me a download site that has the older GK with xvid (preferably, 0.28.5 as I think it was the version I was using without any problem).
Thanks in advance.

If I understand right you are trying to use GK .35 to convert a .vob file you ripped using robot4rip. Or were you not able to rip using robot4rip? What do you mean it would not let you start? Sorry, I don't understand. :( Explain a little more and I am sure we can get it working for you. Is there a reason you dont wan't to use DVD Decrypter to rip the disk?
Cheers!

Hey, thanks for the reply.. I guess I was not very specific about the problems I was having, for which I apologize. So far, two problems.
First, the robot4rip from 0.35 does not have the start button lit. I gather that it is not working. I cannot get the robot4rip going at all.
Then, I downloaded 0.28.7 and used the older version of Robot4rip that came along with it. Curiously, it skipped the dvd2avi part -- no d2v file. So, I used dvd2avi from the version to get it done.
Then, I found that 0.28.7 did not have an xvid option, so I tried to used 0.35 to encode it. Voila, 0.35 says the d2v file has a problem and does not recognize it. So, I used the dvd2avi from 0.35 to get the d2v file. It works that way.
I do not deal with going back and forth to just get through that part. I just want the older version I had no problem with... Or, it would be great to have the robot4rip from 0.35 to do the preliminary steps automatically.
Since I was frustrated by the initial steps, I have not even tried to encode it through 0.35 expecting more problems.
I guess, what I want at this point is to get the robot4rip working for 0.35. If that is not possible, I would greatly appreciate it if you let me know a download site that has older versions of GK.
Thanks once again. :)

Adapt these answers to your problem. I wouldn't recommend older versions of GK, they're - well - old. You have no need at all of R4R for encoding a movie in GK, all the buttons are there handy to see. Maybe you'd be happier with AutoGK rather than GK? :)

Hi niamh,
Thanks for your help. I followed the threads you recommended and resolved the issues. The encoding was successful. Have a great day! :)
