I just updated to the july version from the original version. It's still has the blue bird background and didn't look like it did anything. Everything still plays fine....thank god!!!

Anyone else notice the same?!?!?!

if i were you, i'd go back to the previous firmware which supports nero .mp4. this current fimware is really may's firmware in disguise and it does not support nero .mp4.

you'll know if you have the right nero .mp4 firmware when you have a yellow title screen (and not the bird) when you turn on the player .

remember to select 'no multisession' and finalize the disc when you burn the firmware onto a cd. otherwise, your player might die after you try updating.

I just noticed that the firmware link for the RJ-1500DVXII has been removed.

Note: I never saw a "July" version, just 5/25.

I downloaded the last release but I've never installed it. The one before it changed the player's background from white swan on blue to RJ-Tech logo on yellow/orange and added Nero Digital 2.0 support along with subtitle refinement.

Their site now has this statement on every, former, firmware page:

"If you're having problem with DVD players, please contact us (rjtech@rjtech.net) for technical solution. We don't offer firmware through our website at this time. "

to Wesley Hester:

it sounds like you have the right nero firmware on your player. i've called them before, they were pretty good with helping me out.

It would seem RJ Tech have indeed removed the 13 July 2005 firmware upgrade link for the RJ-1500DVXII. They've also removed the firmware upgrade links for the RJ-800DVX and the RJ-HD

All you can see now is this: -

But although their link has been removed, the firmware can still be downloaded (if you know where to look)... Not that I would recommend doing this, since RJ TECH must have a reason for removing it in the first place.

Cheers

I tried updating to the last version with the orange screen and Nero .mp4 support. Man-0-man it royally screwed up my player. Had to go back to the original.

RJTech appear to have "put up" the firmware again for the RJ-1500DVX II player... and other players: -

If anybody can ascertain whether this latest release is an improvement... please, don't forget to let us know.

Under "the purpuse" there is no mention of MP4 or MPEG4 (can't remember how it was originally worded) like the previous firmware that allowed playback of Nero Digital 2.0.

Hi Wesley,

Are you saying that new versions of RJTech's firmware automatically "removes" the players NeroDigital certification?

i don't believe this player was ever certified. but yes, this "latest" firmware does remove nero .mp4 support.

that is why i recommended getting the firmware before this latest one.

That's right dede95064, the RJ-1500DVXII hasn't been Nero Digital 'certified' or any other RJ-Tech player for that matter.

I am now looking at the RJ-1800DVX and wonder if it will play Nero Digital in any form now or in the future. Unfortunately, I've read several user reviews and reports of poor quality/quality control issues though.

Thanks guys,

If RJTech really have dropped NeroDigital support for the 1500DVXII, then in my opinion they should remove all reference to it within the players specification, as stated on their web site.

I just checked a few minutes ago and found the following, which is very misleading: -

Are either of you up to contacting RJ Tech and pointing out their error?
