RJ-1500DVX II problem

greetings everyone,

i'm a newbie and looking for help for my player (RJ-1500DVX II). i acquired it from ebay about 3.5 months ago and worked perfectly fine. a week ago, all movies i play had a "bubbly" audio... seems like people are talking under water. i tried out most of my other movies which i was working perfectly prior to a week ago and had the same "under-water" audio. i hope someone can help me or advice me on what to do? many thanks in advance.

What format are you playing and does it happen on all of them?? Try a firmware update. There has just been a new release as of a week or so ago.

These players are very very botchy and any firmware updates can kill the player. If upgrading the firmware doesn't kill it but just screws it up even more than it fixes it you can always go here and download the original firmware.

yes i have tried the firmware update already, but didn't help at all. i'll try the original firmware soon.

yes, it does happen to all my playable movies now... it worked before though.

i'd recommend you not update to the current july firmware. it does not support nero's .mp4. you can get it from the link hitrack provided.

also, make sure you haven't pressed the karaoke button on the remote by accident as that slows/speeds up the audio track.

On the RJ-1500DVXII, the Karaoke button toggles the mic input on/off. For karaoke you still have to manually switch audio output from digital (if you have it set that way) to analog, i.e. SPDIF off.
The audio may sound to some as "speeding up" or "speeding down" but infact the tempo remains the same, the 'key' is being raised and lowered via digital processing. This is acomplished using the Key+ and Key- buttons with 'Karaoke Mode' on. This allows for limited voice matching to the music being played for karaoke.

thanks for your replies. but it isn't the button the Karaoke; i am aware that pressing the key + or minus changes the speed.
