I have a movie that will not play properly on my standalone but perfectly on my pc, the left and right of the picture is missing parts of the titles so i know it's not overscan. Right, a very nice bloke over at videohelp(after looking at some screenshots i uploaded) told me that it is not flagged 16:9 correctly and to use ifoedit to correct the flags. Can anyone give me a few hints as i've never used ifoedit before or could i use tmpgenc or something like it to solve my problem.

The movie is an iso image, by the way.

first, i believe you will have to mount your .iso in a virtual drive (eg daemon tools) and then use DVD Decrypter to rip in file mode (or use windows explorer to copy the files if they are not encrypted).

then open the corresponding .ifo the vts you wish to alter, in ifoedit. when it first loads, there will be a VTS overview: eg: Menu attributes:
Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (16:9) (letterboxed)
Audio 1: Not Specified (Dolby AC-3) 2ch 48Kbps DRC
SubPicture 1: Not Specified (2-bit rle )

Title Set (Movie) attributes:
Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (16:9) (letterboxed)
Audio 1: English (Dolby AC-3) 6ch 48Kbps DRC (ID: 0x80)
Audio 2: Magyar (Dolby AC-3) 6ch 48Kbps DRC (ID: 0x81)
Audio 3: English (Dolby AC-3) 2ch 48Kbps DRC director's comments (ID: 0x82)
Audio 4: English (Dolby AC-3) 2ch 48Kbps DRC alternate director's comments (ID: 0x83)
SubPicture 1: English (2-bit rle ) (ID: 0x20)
SubPicture 2: Magyar (2-bit rle ) (ID: 0x21) simply double click on this line: Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (16:9) (letterboxed) and it will bring up at set options for the video attributes. change aspect aspect ratio to suit and save .ifo (note: you will need click on another item (eg VTS_PGCITI) then click back to the main .ifo to see the changes).

then use Imgtool Classic to create a new .iso. test with a rewritable disc and see if it fixes your issues.

Ok, i mounted the iso with alcohol120%, copied it with dvddecrypter in file mode, loaded the ifo files into ifoedit and set all the flags to 16:9 with letterbox checked and saved them, then dropped the files into an iso container and burned with dvddecrypter.

Problem solved, thanks for a really good post jel, much appreciated.
