are you kidding me? are you asking for a 64-bit codec for every codec? what's next you gonna email Microsoft and have them make a 64-bit version of their codec? or how about a full on apple 64-bit quicktime codec? Seriously it's enough already. It will come out when it comes out.

he's posted this same thread in the xvid section and mpeg4-AVC already. He needs to stop asking for it already because we have given the answer already. It will come when/if the developers feel it is time for a 64-bit version. Posting the same thread is pointless and achives nothing to speed up the process of 64-bit versions. Also his demeanor in the other threads basically put him on a "damnit give me my 64-bit versions now I demand it" position. It was not an attempt to be mean but rather an annoyance at the fact that the question has been asked and answered with the best answer possible.

and in those threads http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=97531&page=1&pp=20 (which have quite alot of info actually) people have answered his questions without any issues. same with the xvid thread, squid80 gave him an answer here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=97529
i just checked with the search function and the last post that had anything to do with 64bit divx version was written in 2003 and the last reply in it was Jan 2004. 18 months ago was the last time anyone asked if divx was going 64bit, is that not long enough yet to ask again?
maybe he/she wants to learn more about all the 64bit versions and has asked the questions in the different correct forums to get answers? i dont see any justification for your reply here at all. if you dont know/cant help then maybe leave it to a Mod/Admin to decide if he has overstepped the rules not you.
no doubt i will be in the wrong here.

it wasn't about the rules. it was about the annoyance of him posting the same thing in 205467 times.
"it will be released when it is released"
Even sharktooth is annoyed as hell at this guy and he made it quite clear in the other thread as well.

205467 times? or 3 maybe.. in the correct sub-forums.
also in the xvid thread he/she helped Syskin find out some info that Squid_80 had actually sent in the 64bit code to be added to xvid.org, and he would never have really found out unless he had read that thread.
we may have found out some info in this thread too, but i very much doubt this thread is going anywhere now is it... i'm outta here.....

I asked when Divx6 came out (last month). Digital56k replied with:
@squid_80:
A 64-bit version of DivX looks ever more likely as 64-bit CPUs are upon us. The key piece that is missing is a 64-bit OS ready to ship in volume. You may, of course, see releases on DivX Labs before then.

I agree with Woah, he posted in the correct sub-forums i as user dont see anything wrong with that, no one has to reply if someone doesnt like his post dont read them or post in them
ChronoCross and IgorC last time i looked at your profiles it doesnt say there you guys are moderators, if you arent what gives you the right to jump at him like that?
Even sharktooth is annoyed as hell at this guy
Where did he post that?
he said in one of his posts"it will be ready when its ready" where does it says that he is annoyed as hell?
if someone wants to know something about xvid we post in the xvid forum(thats what he did)
if someone wants to know something about divx we post in the divx forum(thats what he did)
what are guys saying? that we shouldnt respect the forum rules like he did?
If you were moderators or the site owner but you arent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
