I've just started to play with xvid so bear with me. I was doing my first xvid movie today and I'm having an issue. For some reason my MCE2005 computer will not play the audio from the xvid avi.

Here's what I did

used autogk to transcode it set to ac3/dts audio english track
coding went fine with no errors.
All other audio sources on the computer are working fine.
I've tried playing it in media center, wmp, and BSplayer all with the same results
I've reinstalled the codec.

Here's the kicker It plays fine on another computer in wmp10.

Hardware:
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe
Sempron 2500
1 gig pc3200
Asus fx5500
Soundblaster audigy 2 value

5.1 analog outputs to my reciever

If I've left out any info please let me know.

Hello and welcome to the forum-

This has nothing at all to do with XviD, but I'll give it a shot. First, are you sure that the AVI really has the audio inside it? You might check using GSpot. (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Editing/gspot221.exe) I'm pretty sure it does, if it came out of AutoGK. And second, do you have an AC3 filter installed? If you're not sure, then go ahead and install the AC3 Filter. (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Filters/ac3filter_0_70b.exe)
