View Full Version : Evaluate: Unrecognized exception!

First off, I am a long time lurker in this forum.
Second, thanks to jdobbs for his excellent work, and to those that help him as well.
Using the latest of dvdrb, on the interleaved movie "Cube 2 - Hypercube",
i get this when attempting to play back a storyboard of the movie features.
Evaluate: Unrecognized exception!
(G:\DVD\DVD2VAVS\V05000100002001.avs, line 6)
This shows up on PowerDvd when playing. I have ran this movie thru twice,
same results. I am using CCE trial. Any ideas on what is up with this?
If there is more info needed, I can provide, still have the files on my hd.
Thanks
Rockas

sorry this wont be much help, but i backed up the r1 of hypercube with cce 2.5 0 issues, version 0.93 of rb
jdobbs
26th July 2005, 18:31
That's because v0.93 doesn't reencode the ILVU segment (it copies it intact). You could also do the same thing with v1.00RC2 by forcing it into that mode with "ILVU_Encode=0".

But this will be fixed by RC3 for ILVU encoding?

..i get this when attempting to play back a storyboard of the movie features. The VTS that gave me the same error (from a different disc) was also a storyboard section. I'm not sure that means anything though.

But this will be fixed by RC3 for ILVU encoding?I can't say. I'm not even sure it is a problem with DVD-RB yet. The error you are getting is from AVISYNTH.
What version of AVISYNTH are you using?

I don't have the problem at all. I was just browsing the forums and speculating how much longer until DVD-RB is bug free. My setup is running well, with a few exceptions: I still get the framecount differences error on some discs, but other than that, I am very happy with this program.

In the other thread, he stated he was using 2.55

@Sled_Dog
At the point at which it dies, look in the Working Directory and see if the file "VI0500002001.VOB" exists. It should if that is the point of failure. If it does -- try opening "V05000100002001.avs" directly with Microsoft Media Player and see if you still get the error.
What I'm trying to determine is whether it is possible that it is failing to open the .VOB file (i.e. whether it may be already open for exclusive access by DVD-RB).

Sorry, deleted the work folder a day or to ago, needed the space.
Ran it thru again, this time used HC just to be different. :)
Now at 98%, I get this

The VI0500002001.VOB file does exist, and can be played with WMP Classic.
Error is correct, there is no m2v file with the number V05000100002001.
Double click on VI0500002001.D2V and Mp classic says cannot render the file.
Opening the V05000100002001.AVS file with Mp Classic I get

Same as before I guess, only with CCE it finished, and I got the above message in the movie.

You mean V05000100002001.avs? Yes thats all of it. They are all similar in length. Unless you meant VI0500002001.D2V, thats only part of it, the rest won't fit.
