it seems when i burn certain autogk rips, cd1 avi file fails to work...the player just skips to the next file...all the other avi's in the dvd+r work...but the cd1 file for each movie dont work...the avi works fine in my computer and g-spot shows me there's no difference between my cd1 avi's and cd2,cd3, etc...ne ideas on what the problem may be?

ps. on another subject, nebody know whats the difference between the dvp642/37 and dvp642/17,etc.?

I own the 630/00 which is considered the european version of the 642. For the rip problem, use GK and maybe don't split your files. My DVDR's contain several up to 1600MB large avi's with multiple audio streams and I never experienced any problems. Does the player report something or does it just skip the file?? Did you use the newest firmware??

as for the /17... I realy don't know. The 630 comes in /00 - /05 versions for which the manual is identical, so I think the difference in minimal.

Edit:
the specs between the /37 and /17 are identical, the /37 is just called "DVD Player" and the /17 "DivX Player" at p4c.philips.
