I am able to use DVD Rebuilder free version in Wine, now with the pro version I get an error:
http://forum.doom9.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=4380&stc=1
I had to copy msvbmv60.dll and stdole2.tlb to my fake windows folder in wine. I'm assuming it's possibly the preview functions in the RC2 versions that might be causing a problem. Has anyone else gotten this to work? It does ask me to input my registered email address just fine and then I get this error.
By the way, the error is "Runtime error "440", Automation Error"

Don't know what software is kicking out that error -- but it isn't a REBUILDER detected error as the title seems to indicate. I have no error message callled "Automation Error".

From the searching I have done online, it's a standard VB error code. It is sometimes referred to as an object error. I don't expect you to make any code changes obviously, I'm sure it can be done, I'm just trying to figure out what it takes! If I figure it out, I'll post here, I'm sure I'm not the only one using DVD-RB Pro and HC in Wine.

By the way, I got it to work. It's a COM problem.
I did 2 things, I installed IE6 using the script from this page:
http://sidenet.ddo.jp/winetips/config.html
I also installed the support libraries from here:
http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/libraryfiles.exe
I tried to figure out what ActiveX control or DLL it was that actually made it work, but I'm too lazy for that. It works and that's what I was concerned with.

That error message comes from missing the VB dlls. Over in the linux forum I posted my experience using DVD-rb under wine (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=95199), which was fairly successful. I did have some problems with the output on some DVDs but I haven't looked into it much lately.

I originally used your guide at that link to get the free version working, but the Pro version didn't work correctly with that same setup.

Does it run incredibly slow using Wine? I'm guessing the errors are related to the attempt to set registry values... that happens immediately after accepting the e-mail address.

Actually it runs pretty much the same in Wine on Linux as it does on Windows XP, I was pleasantly surprised. When I had the error, it came up immediately after the message about setting the skins to default. The regsitry works pretty nicely in Wine, it's really nice because it's stored in standard .reg files instead of that encrypted, bloated crap from Windows.
