Sorry if this is the wrong section to post this but he i'm a newbie.

I have some avi files (Xvid codec (used G-Spot) with a total of 4,7 GB. Now I want to burn them on a DVD with Nero but Nero says (use NeroVission Express) it's to big (17 gb in total). So I know that Nero wants to confert them to ....* which makes them better.

So I was wondering: Is there a program like Nero on which I can burn these avi's on a single dvd. Or do I need to confert the Xvid to a DVD codec??

*EDIT*
All ready tried buring these avi's on a DVD but my DVD player can not read these avi's

Hello, and welcome to the forum-

So, I guess your player doesn't play AVI. The simplest solution (although maybe not the cheapest) is to go out and buy yourself a DVD/MPEG-4 player. Some are fairly inexpensive at under $100 US. The other alternative is to convert them into DVD (or maybe SVCD if your player plays that) format for playing in your DVD player. That's what the Format Conversion Guides (http://www.doom9.org/conversionguides.htm) are for. Or maybe try here (http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?tools=&madeby=&formatconversionselect=AVI+to+DVD&howtoselect=%3B&orderby=Date&listall=1&hits=25&archive=0&listallusers=&search=Search+or+List+Guides) for many, many guides.

Use SVCD2DVD to convert avi files to vob. Then use Shrink to create dvd.

I have 2 of the philips dvp642 and they work great. About $60-70. If you want to convert to dvd I like Dvd2svcd or mainconcept. If you have alot I would save the time and get divx/dvd player
