Tricky Dual layer DVD Problem

Hi all,

I've searched the forum and somehow did not find the problem i have with one of my Navigation DVD's (VOLVO RTI). I'm trying to make a safety copy
since the DVD has bee nstolen once before but run into the folowing problem:

The DVD is dual layer and Layer L0 is smaler than Layer L1. According to
other forum postings this is not according to the standard. Next to that
the layer split number are not devideable by 16...

I've tried several programs like DVD decrypter / Alcohol 120%/ CloneCD / GEAR
but no one seems to be able to break the layer correctly.

This may not be much help, more like info. L0 larger than L1 and sizes divisible by 16 are restrictions for DVD-Video. What you have is a DVD-ROM (notice also that the tracks are parallel, not opposite as in DVD-Video). I would think that any dual layer burner would also have dual layer copying software. This is true of single layer, at least. You want to copy it as a data DVD, not video.

I agree that there should be DL copysoftware. Thanks for your input.
Does anyone know how to copy my DVD-Rom. or has experience with
copying a disk with L0 < L2? I tried all kinds of software including the latest
NERO. They all evenly spread the data over the disk L0= 50% L1=50% with
a little + on L0.

Please point me to a method (program?) that copies an unprotected!
DVD-ROM exactly.
