I've tried the "new Big 3" guide, but I have problems wih one subtitle.
I'm trying to backup the movie Constantine (PAL region 2). I've had no problems folliwing the guide and everything went ok, until the scenarist-part, I get the "placeholder symbol", so the guide says my track is missing a video track, but when looking at the track there is a video track. So I continued and let scenarist do its work. Then I tried to view the output with powerDVD, everything works excpt for the dutch subtitles. When I look in scenarist at the track, there are three subtitles, two english (I can see those in powerDVD) and one dutch (which I can't play in powerDVD). What can I do about this problem???

PS. I use scenarist 3.0

What does your scenarist project tell you? Is there a dutch subtitle track there?

Cause if it's not there you won't be able to play it of course. What you can also check if you have a folder for dutch subtitles in your demux directory.

It doesn't seems to be that you have a placeholder btw, because otherwise scenarist would not compile at all.

As I said, scenarist tells me there is a dutch subtitle in the track of the main movie.. And the subtitles are demuxed into a folder..

And about that placeholder, I already thought this wasn't the problem..

Maybe Powerdvd get's confused. Wouldn't be the first time.

Does the scenarist preview let you view the dutch subs?

Something might also have gone wrong in the ifo update process.

There's just a little bit too much possiblities atm, we need to narrow that down a bit

I just looked at the preview and it seems to be there in scenarist. I'll create an iso-image later this day and try to open it with dvd-decrypter...

well assuming the subs will show if you directly play the scenarist output I would say something went wrong in the updating stage.

The output scenarist gave me doesn't work, but the preview in scenarist does seem to work.. But I loaded the VOBs scenarist gave me didn't show the dutch subs in powerDVD (so I haven't combined them with the other VOBs numenu4u gave me). That's why I think this is just weird.. It's almost as if scenarist is doing something wrong while compiling the project. I haven't had a look at what DVDDecrypter will say, so I'll post that later..

Edit: Just tried using dvd decrypter with the iso I made of the scenarist output, but it didn't show a dutch subtitle, it just showed the two english..

PS. I've just opened the generated IFO with ifoedit and it doesn't show the dutch subtitles either...

I'm trying to do the whole thing again, if it doesn't work I'll send it to you. Should I use the email address from the scenaid website?

An update: I've checked the vobs with vobrator and they do seem to contain the dutch subtitle...

PS. D3s7: I've emailed the requested files

Got them and shot back a test .exe for you to try.... it needs a few more corrections for public use but should work for your issue

I think I could try it out tomorrow, if not it'll be wednesday. I'll let you know whether it works or not.

Thanks D3s7, I think this did the trick. My DVD still isn't optimal yet, I'll have to struggle a bit more, but the subtitles are ok now :)
