Chinese DVD players italian crackdown !

Yesterday the italian frontiers police have been seized 5.946 chinese DVD players, due to unauthorized (unlicensed) MP3 playing ability.
The whole operation have been done after the denunciation of S.I.V.E.L. (http://www.sisvel.com/), that manages the MP3 licensing in Italy.

another argument for vorbis i see.

looks like there'll be a lot more interest in vorbis support from these electronics manufacturers if this trend continues.

i certainly hope the pirate police don't start raiding people's homes, or worse, stopping people on the streets if they're wearing iPods. that'd be no fun.

also looks bad for LAME, or at least people who distribute LAME binaries.
