Hi.

I have recently formated my pc and instaled Windows XP. I have SP2, all updates, Directx 9.0c, etc..
I'm having great problems with video display. No mather what movie I try to see (DVD, avi, mpg, mkv..), I get no image, only sound, and the computer gets extremely slow playing it. It's not a codec problem because i have xvid, divx, ffdshow, AC3, etc, installed and the movies i'm trying to see use these kind of codec. I also tryied installing a DVD decoder. Nothing.. This happens with Windows Media Player but also with VLC.. So it's not a program based error also..
I already had this problem in the past, and I found a solution on the net based on a Windows XP problem with the playing of videos, but I couldnīt found it again..

Can someone help?

what about your graphic card? did you install an actual driver? maybe disabling hardware acceleration helps...

My graphic card driver is very recent. I don't see any problem with that either.. :(
Any other help?

Found the problem. It was my graphic card. But not because e had an old version, but a new one. I installed a previous version and now all works fine. Thanks anyway.

With XP SP2 if you don't have digitally signed drivers recognised by MS, they don't work too well, even if their listed on the manufacturers website.
