I've got nimo codec pack installed, but it hasnt seemed to have done anything.

it there by chance you're using nVidia Video Card, and updating your driver?

there is some version of nVidia Forceware Driver can cause this problem on some card.

Solution is to go to the nVidia Properties and change the gamma there to normal...since the default value was set too high. Another solution is update to a newer driver...if its available.

Yeah I have a geforce FX 5700... I'm using latest drivers, the gamma is set to normal and lowering it just lowers it all.

Any recommendations on a good version of driver?

It seems to be a bug on Forceware 77.xx

Solution can be found here (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=5721)

or use older driver ;)

Yeah, I had this happen to me. At first I thought I had done something wrong, but after reading the driver's documentation (who'd 'a thunk it!) I found the fix.

Read the 77.72 docs and you'll see the fix (going into the nVidia color correction area and applying settings to "All")

Good luck,
