View Full Version : Appending avi clips skews audio

I'm capping some home vids off of VHS using both Virtual VCR and Vdub. The tapes are 30 minutes long, so I'm capping 3 of them, then join them together before encoding. The problem is, only the first capture is in sync. The next two appended videos have early audio: number 2 is approx. 1/2 second out of sync, number 3 is approx. 1 second off.

Each capture by itself is perfectly in sync; only when they are appended together do they go out of sync. It's like the audio cuts off 1/2 second before the video. So, when you append the next avi, the audio begins 1/2 second too early.

So, is there something I can do, either during capping or joining that will solve this problem?

Use aligned splicing in Avisynth.

Thanks, that worked. I've been putting off learning to use avisynth, but it isn't that bad, I guess. Plus, I saw a 30% increase in CCE's encode speed over using Vdub's frameserver.
