View Full Version : Encoding stops

I've encountered my first problem with 1.00RC2. With Ripping Yarns Disc 1 (R2) (and old BBC comedy!), the encoding process stops very soon after starting with no error message. I've tried 2 CCE versions and HC in both mulitpass modes and OPV modes and it always does the same. I've included the log:

This is as far as the encoding gets! Thanks!

This is the same thing I posted about in another thread. When I see "Encoding resulted in no .M2V, retrying." in rebuilder it's as a result of HC encoder being unable to process the AVS file.

If you look at HC encoder when it processes one of the problem segments does it look as though it's counting down from 10?

This was the previous thread, but there was no further feedback on it:-

Thanks winny, I'll check tonight to see if its counting down. Is this one of those rouge errors which nobody knows what it is? Or is it just a badly made DVD?

i really wish i knew more about it, but i only have one disk so far where i've seen this behaviour.

i'll try a post in the encoders section as it looks like an hc issue in the first instance, which then causes dvdrb to notice there's a file missing.

Its not an HC problem in my case. Although I tried it with HC, if you look at the log its CCE!

@rendez2k

I've never had that happen, maybe the ecl will give a clue to what's going on. Can you post the item ecl for that segment? If you're not sure then attach the whole rebuilder.ecl file :)

Hi borgraf, i've attatched the whole ecl file as I know nothing about ecl files! Hope it helps!

@rendez2k. Lol, thanks for trying. I was hoping a second example with HC would be a step closer to cracking my own problem.

The hunt continues, until I can prove it was my own user error all along... :)

Nice. I might not find anything, but i'll take a look as soon as one of our nice mods stop by and approves the attachment (or not) :D

@rendez2k

Sorry I can't see anything strange for that segment. The only suspect I can think of right now is the low bitrate. But you used both CCE and HC so it seems like a longshot. You could see what happens if you encode the whole thing (all VTS) at Half D1 (half horizontal resolution), you find it under AVS options. I see atleast one more thread with similar problems as yours so I dunno what's up with this..
