I am using the latest version dvd rebuilder pro V1.00 RC2, and I think I am doing everything that I was before using pro, but the complete process now only takes around 3 hours and I notice that it is saying only Pass 1/1. I have not got the 1 pass selected. It always used to run overnight and still be working the following morning ! Is this finger trouble on my part? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling taking note of all the intructions and how to's. Apologies if this is a stupid question but is there a way to select more passes or is this done automatically and in which case what am I doing wrong please?

What encoder and what version are you using?

Without specifying your settings, it's hard to help you. However, if your "Mode" settings are set to "Rejig" then you would only get one pass transcoding. On the other hand if you have "Mode > CCE" and "Options > CCE Basic" you would automatically have 2 pass encoding. If you have "Mode > QuEnc Mode" or "Mode > HC Mode" then check the "Options" menu for either "QuEnc Options" or "HC Options" and make sure you don't have 1 pass CQ VBR" selected by accident. As I understand it, CCE Basic, HC mode and QuEnc all are 2 pass encoders by default unless you checked off 1 pass. So recheck your settings.

If you have One Pass VBR enabled(Options-CCE Options), that's all it will do. How many passes do you have it set for?

Arghhhh...I just knew I should have given all the details, my apologies. It is running now and I dont want to disturb it and am going to bed as well, so I will post details in the morning if I may? I know that I am using CCE SP 2.67.00.27, AviSynth 255, dgmpgdec110, DvdDecrypter 3.5.4.0. Another point that may be worth noting is that I have it running on my new 64 bit machine. My original concern was that I noticed before that it would be saying something like Pass 1/4 or 1/5, but now its just 1/1. Thanks a lot

sounds like you had it set at like 6 passes before (1+5), and after you reinstalled everything it's now doing the default 2 passes (1+1). CCE 2.67 first shows you the vaf creation pass 1/1, then the rest of the passes. so earlier it'd say 1/5 but if you now have 2 pass set you'll get 1/1 all the time. this would also explain the time difference..

you can change the number of passes under:
options -> CCE options -> advanced (expert) settings -> VBR passes
but 2 or 3 is really enough

borgraf - you got it , thank you! Thanks also to the rest of you guys for the assistance, I feel that I know the prog a little better now. I took heed of the instructions earlier where it said .."if you ain't an expert, dont go there !"
