Having no usable converter in DivX 6 I started playing with the guides again and conerted a movie with a 2.25 aspect ratio. I followed the *outdated* but still usedful DVD2AVI (DGINDEX) and MPEG2DEC (DGDECODE).
Following the instructions the movie turned out beautifully. However, I do not understand. I got it so far until the cropping down to 720x360 (which was what I saw). Then the guide suggests to resize to 640x272. This, for some reason, works fine. However, this is not the aspect ratio of 720 to 360 (1.125). 360 / 1.125=320.
What sort of math is going on here?
