I wonder whether someone else observed this symptom:
I upgraded to the latest NV Express (3-1.0.14). I am trying to run Recode 2 with Maximum AVC and 5.1 sourround sound. Initially it kept crashing during the first quarter of the second pass on various movies.
Then I decided to install Windows from scratch and reinstalled the thing and it appeared to compress (but choked on actually writing the disk for reasons unknown).
Anyhow, I disregarded this for a moment and kept reinstalling various video applications such as the Canopus Procoder Express with DivX Pro (later upgraded to DivX 6).
Somewhere along the line Recode 2 started crashing again during the second pass. I could not find a log. Just the standard Windows dialog box about 'Serious error, have to terminate'.
Now it *always* crashes during the second phase. This has never happened to me before with the older versions.
This is a legit version, actually everything on this machine is legit, no bogus keys, etc. I opened a ticket with Nero but haven't heard back from them.
I am very disappointed as my RJTech player can actually play back Recode digital files with Multichannel sound (at lower bitrates than DivX with AC3 encapsulated).
I am encoding off disk, ripped in file mode.
1GB memory, Athlon XP 3000+, MX-440.
Any suggestions what to try? I uninstalled, used the Clean tool, reinstalled - same problems.
