At home I'm using a Windows MCE 2005 machine in our living room and I'd like to watch the movies I've encoded with Nero Digital on this PC. I already found out that I can watch movies on de MCE PC after these three steps:
- Install Nero Vision Express to have the proper video-codec / .mp4 splitter
- Perform a registry patch so MCE recognizes .MP4 files als videofiles
- Install the CoreAAC codec, because Nero's own AAC-codec doesn't seem to work in MCE. (While it does work in WMP...)
This all works flawlessly, with one exception: when I've got a Nero Digital .mp4 with 5.1 channel AAC-sound, only the the two front channel are played. Proper surround sound doesn't seem to work.
Does this have anything to do with an incompatibility between Nero Digital and CoreAAC? Or is there another problem?
Do you guys know a way to watch Nero Digital files propely in Windows MCE?
