God I feel stupid but I just got a Sony TRV-480. I just installed a firewire port and purchased an I-link cable. For the life of me I can't figure out how to do a transfer to my PC. When I hook up the camcorder to the PC and go to the play menu, the DVin icon pops up on the top right corner. I have used various software but none of them recognise that a DV device is connected. Am I doing something wrong? I just want a high quality transfer from the Recorder to my PC.

HELP!!!

nevermind I figured it out (didn't have the firewire card plugged in fully). sorry about the wrong forum, but this is called "Capturing Video"
