I'm very surprised that no one has had any comment on the new version. With all of the gripping about the converter provided with the new Divx I would have thought that this would have been bigger news.
After almost a month I finally feel like I can properly use Divx 6.
Well, let me be the first to say
"Thanks len0x"
:thanks:

YEP!
THANKS VERY MUCH!
In my opinion divx6 multisubtitle support would be the next thing to update. Damn you are good len0x.

Is the new Divx preferred over the latest Xvid build for speed and/or quality?

Thanks A MILLION Len0x!
However, after testing this thing out, I have to say that Divx 6 isn't up to par with XviD yet. It's a little slower, and a whole lot more blurry (smudging the details into big smears).
I'm sticking with Xvid and NeroDigital for now.

As I mentioned in development thread it is slower because of H263 optimized quantization. If ppl found it not as useful and wanted more speed I could switch it off.

May be useful to have that option :)
Whta's the quality benefit ??

Anyone else have an initial opinion of DivX 6 vs the most recent Xvid (for quality, I mean)?

Use XviD if quality is important. If you'd rather have details blurred and smeared backgrounds, use Divx.
Test it yourself, see what it does to your encodes. Maybe you'll like that kind of effect.
