I've been using DVDRB for awhile and recently began using the latest free version. I'm using CCE 2.67 w/ECLECC. The problem I now have is when DVDRB is done I get a DVD ALLOCATION ERROR, PLAYBACK MAY NOT BE PLAYABLE when using NERO BURN to burn to a dvd disc. Anyone have any idea why I am getting that error msg? Therefore I have been using DVDSHRINK with NO COMPRESSION on those video files that DVDRB created then it's ok to burn with NERO BURN. But I've had problems with that as well because sometimes the discs would freeze up.
It's not a dvd media issue because I use Taiyo Yuden DVD-R 4x discs with my Plextor 708a and 8x Taiyo Yuden discs with my Pioneer 107d drive. I use those discs with movies I backup with DVDSHRINK and have no problems in playback. I used to use the older versions of DVDRB without any problems. Does it have to do with CCE or those hidden settings that I've read about in the DVDRB SETTINGS THREAD? Any comments or help would be great! Thanks!

ignore it, nero thinks it knows more than it does

Had that once, are there files that are less then 10KB?
Those gave me problems with Nero (or Nero problems with them ;))
But yes, jptheripper is right, if Nero wants to continue if you press ok, just ignore it.

When I get this message I choose another program that won't display one.......
Ignorance is bliss!

Or you can use ImageTool Classic to make an ISO image from the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. Then you never see that message in Nero. Seems to work for me every time.

ok guys. i am getting coasters now. i was ignoring the nero message but I think there is something really wrong.
also, i put the dvd in, and anydvd gave the message about the DVD-video being mastered incorrectly. no iso was used.
please look into this. i cannot afford to pay for coasters, both time and money waste
So your using RB v1.0 RC2? What version of nero? Did RB give any warnings or errors? Or any weirdness? Were there any missing files from the VIDEO_TS directory? Have you tried using IMGTool to create an ISO image from the VIDEO_TS directory that RB creates? This isnt an issue with the latest RB because I use RB v1.0 RC2, nero 6.something ultra, and imgtool to great success. Of course I rip with Decrypter and sometimes preprocess with DVD Remake.

cant afford coasterS? they are like 35 cents.
try loading the files into dvd remake, it is excellent at detecting and fixing errors
oh and "I think that DVD decrypter will make an unreadable discs for disc that get this message" umm.. i thought you were buring with nero, and if you dont have an image how can you burn with decrypter?

wasting time, lol
16x, that wastes like what 8 minutes of which you need to interact with the computer for 10 seconds?
"this thing" that you say wastes your time, if its such a problem, just stop using it. We are trying to help, but can only do so much. I have never had an issue with illegal files with my setup.

TheSeeker: Newest Nero, Newest RB. Only a few discs do this, I have had great success with the rest. This disc was HP3.
I am removing AnyDVD. It does some weird things from time to time. I will just use Decrypter, haven't run into anything it can't handle.
Yes... be very carefull with AnyDVD... specially if it is a *aham* an "alternative" version.

Yea, no offense to the author of AnyDVD, but at this time there is nothing that DVD Decrypter cant handle. And so far it seems like the most foolproof ripper out there.
So only some dvd's do this with the exact same setup? Was there anything different in the steps that you took for the dvd's that failed? So imgtool classic/burn with decrypter worked for the dvd's that were failing before?
Also, your burning movies at 16x? I wouldnt advise that. I would say max of 4x MAYBE 8x. Just a more reliable burn that way. Isn't 16x not even recognized by the DVD forum yet? I thought 12x was the fastest OFFICIALLY supported dvd burn speed/disc speed.

Most of you know, but I just want to clear something up.. when nero says something is wrong, it is right :D the deal is that nero is more picky than most other burn apps, so many times you can burn the project, ignoring the errors, and your dvdplayer plays the disc just fine anyway. But don't count on it unless you understand what the error message means and know that it'll work anyway. And burning with some other app doesn't automagically remove the error, it just doesn't warn you about it.
I really can't afford coasters.x2
Ever heard of ReWritable media? I got a 5-pack of good quality years ago and they've saved me loads of coasters ever since.

Thanks for all the replies but ignoring the NERO error msg does not work. Any other ideas other than using IMG TOOL to create a ISO image? This has never happen to me before so I figure it has something to do with DVDRB. I'm currently using NERO version 6.6.0.14.

I have Nero 6 ultra edtion and have had issues with Nero, at times, burning from the DVD-Rebuilder output folder. No prob. with DVD Rebuilder.
So now most of the time if burning from the output directory of RBuilder I use, and have had no problem with, CloneDVD2 by Slysoft.
You just click "Write Existing Data" and your on your way.
I still use Nero to burn with Recode and Shrink. It is just tempermental some days.
Does it have to do with CCE or those hidden settings that I've read about in the DVDRB SETTINGS THREAD? You haven't been playing in the Rebuilder.ini have you?
Regards,:)

No I haven't been playing in the Rebuilder.ini. I've created ISO IMAGES by using IMG TOOL CLASSIC which work fine. So I guess I'll have to use IMG TOOL CLASSIC from now on to create ISO IMAGE then use DECRYPTER to burn. I just don't understand why all of a sudden NERO would give me that ERROR MSG. As I've stated I never had problems before until now so I am thinking it has something to do with using NERO BURN version 6.6. When I first started using DVDRB I used NERO version 5.5 because it worked well with my PLEXTOR 708a drive. I have 3 other drives a BENQ 1620, PIONEER 107 & LITEON 811 so I upgraded to 6.6 thinking the compatibilty would be better. Also 6.6 supported BITSETTING for the PLEXTOR 708A drive. Thanks again for all the replies it is greatly appreciated!!!! :)
