I have been using VirtualDubMPEG2 for some time to directly convert DVB recordings - from Nebula DigiTV - to XviD and MP3. These mpg files are in what DigiTV calls "DVD authoring tool mode" and are then directly opened by VirtualDubMPEG2.
The resulting avi has the sound in sync with the video.
Yet, when I try assorted Avisynth scripts to do the same thing, they certainly convert quicker, but the resulting avi sound is out of sync. This is directly processing the source recording.
From reading up, I have to demux the source recording, then use my avs script(s); a multi-step process. So:
1) How come VirtualDubMPEG2 can do it in one-step c/f Avisynth?
2) I've seen a few good GUI tools to chain up these multi-steps. Is there a neato command line tool or meta-script anyone could suggest for Windows?
