View Full Version : 3 frames forward, 1 step back?

After running a HD .TS file through AutoGK set to 4480 output size and original AC3 audio, 95% of my HDs display a very, very odd effect.

They progress an estimated 3 frames forward, then 1 frame back, and repeat. (The frame #s could be different, but the basic effect is forward motion, then quick/minor back motion, then back normal forward motion and repeat).

No HD stream has started off this way. It is typically after the 3/4 mark or so that it begins. Original streams show no evidence of anything wrong.

I've also tried to "cleanup" the streams. I have run the HD .TS through both mpeg2repair and then Womble Video Wizard. Doesn't change. When I attempt to demux my HD .TS in ProjectX, I get the following over, and over, and over:

!> dropping useless B-Frames @ GOP# 3228 / new Timecode 09:03:24.605
!> startPTS of GOP# 3229 is earlier than the end of last GOP.. (exp. 511719224)

this repeats for hundreds of lines during the demux, until (in most occaisions) ProjectX explodes:

stopped...
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

No errors are reported in the AutoGK logfiles, though I have included the most recent log file.

I have come to my wits end, both in converting, and trying to get ProjectX to output something correctly (I just dont know how to run this thing)

Thank You,

I strongly suggest reporting this issue in the DGIndex forum ASAP and upload sample TS file to Neuron2's ftp. Make sure that's it not encoder's fault by just opening AVS file produced by AutoGK in VDubMod and go frame by frame there (you can actually remove everything from AVS file apart from MPEG2Source line).

well, I just isolated a section of the source material that had been jittery after encoding.

I then re-ran AutoGK on just that small segment, and it came out fine. No jitters. I do not know what to make of this problem.
