MenuEdit : Deleting & creating a button

Hello

After reading many posts about MenuEdit I downloaded the software and tried to do the following.

I have a simple motion menu with just 2 different buttons. I tried to delete one of them and create a new one identical to the remaining button but leaving the same command of the deleted button.

It seems that I managed to delete the button's command but the button still shows on the menu. As regards the creation of a new button, I didn't suceed at all. From what I read, the software seems to be able to create a button. I stand to be corrected.

I am new to vob editing so any help would be much appreciated.

try using pgcedit. it can edit menu buttons (hide, delete and create). see if that works better for you.

King_Diamond, if you're trying to remove the button image so you don't see any trace of the button, that's much more difficult, because the button is part of the underlying videos (in 99.99% of the cases). Buttons work this way: you have the images of the buttons that are in the video (possibly with a moving background, or even moving button images), then you have the highlighting (the way the button looks when it's selected, or pressed), which is in the subpic packs, and can be removed with menuedit (or better yet, with PgcEdit!).
If you want to remove the background of the button, you have to modify the video itself, and that's not a small endeavor (especially for a motion menu)...
MenuEdit and PgcEdit can create a button, but will not add the button image for you! So the button won't be "visible", unless it's selected (and then its highlight rectangle will show, depending on the highlighting you're using)...

ya, jeanl right, to edit a text on a motion menu, good luck.
you might what to still it(menushrink or motion2still) and then edit the menu the way you want.

Well, there can be many purposes, but they're all beyond the "simplest" cases of button use. For example, you can have a tiny invisible button that's the one that gets selected when you press "right" on the rightmost chapter in a chapter menu page. This invisible button has a "forced action" (i.e., a command that gets executed as soon as the button is selected) that takes you to the next chapter page... That's just 1 example of a button that's not visible.
In any case, if the highlights are not entirely transparent and do overlap with the button rectangle, a button is visible as soon as it gets selected (because of the highlights)...

I havent really played w/ menuedit as it is very outdated. dimadsofts DVDRemake Pro is even easier and more powerful. What you want to do is easy with DRM.
