Ok 2COOL and anyone else that has backed this up with PGCEdit. I am learning so bear with me. I have a good one to learn on and I am gonna beg you to help me get this one right in such a way that I can understand. I am headed to bed, but will be at it tomorrow again.
I have the R1 "The Big Lebowski"
What I basically want to learn how to do is make nearly every single DVD I back up become main menu and then movie and that's it.
Not sure if you have this one, but the DVD starts up as follows:
FBI warning (which I want to take out)
Polygram video Log (I want this out as well)
It then goes directly to an aspect ratio selection screen.
Once you select the aspect ration it of course starts the movie.
I would prefer the first screen to be the main menu.
With the FBI thing highlighted can I just delete it and go to the next one or is there something else I need to do to delete this and the polygram thing in order to make it jump to the menu?
I have opened the files in PGCedit and am lost. I fidled with it some and manged to get nowhere. I am gonna read your guides some more 2COOL, but I probably need to read a "how to use PGCEDIT" guide for complete idiots first.
If you have backed it up and know what I am looking at, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
2COOL

First of all, I don't have this DVD. :(

I would prefer the first screen to be the main menu. The main menu doesn't come before or after the aspect ratio menu? When does it display? After the movie has played through?
If so, what happens if you select to play the movie again on your main menu? Do you have your aspect ratio menu popping up again or does it play your last aspect ratio?
I take it that you will be blanking out one of your versions, assumingly, your fullscreen. Here's a guide (http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/2cool/remove_language_aspect_ratio_menus/remove_language_and_aspect_ratio_menus_intro.htm) to help you. I could come up with a updated guide with using PgcEdit's trace to find your aspect ratio menu to replace page 1 but I'm a little lazy. The current page 1 is still good though.
Anyways, I was thinking on the suggestion of you using PgcEdit's Jump to PGC on DVD insert macro to get you to jump straight to main menu.

2COOL this is exactly what the macro is for! To bypass all the annoying stuff, including the aspect ratio menu! Blutach's guide is here (http://www.videohelp.com/%7Er0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/blutach/How_to_use_PgcEdit_new_macro.htm).
For starters, you can probably ignore the discussion about the resume flag. You might run into the problem, but most likely not, so until you do, you can ignore it! (the discussion is not simple).
That should take care of what you want!
Also, if you only want to keep 1 of the aspect ratios and none of the extras, consider using the macro "Blank out all title PGCs in DVD" in the utilities menu, answering 'OK" to all the VTS except the one that has the movie you want. This will save a lot of space for you by removing most of the stuff you don't want.

Hey thanks for responding guys. I will look at the guide and the macros.
When you insert the DVD it appears in just that order I listed:
FBI warning
Polygram video Log
It then goes directly to an aspect ratio selection screen.
Once you select the aspect ration it starts the movie
You have to hit menu to get to the menu I want to keep.
I will play with it some more and let you know the snags I run in to.
So PGCedit has macros that I can customize and let it do the rest eh? Cool.
Thanks for the replies again guys.

PgcEdit has built in macros, but not a function for you to design your own. Some of the macro's display confirmation boxes so you can choose for example to use the blank all PGC's macro, but then skip the the one(s) you wish to keep. Makes it a bit quicker than doing it one PGC at a time.
If you come up with an idea for a macro that would be of use to a number of people, you can post the idea for discussion and r0lZ will generally give an indication if it's viable. From what I've seen that is how a number of the macros in PgcEdit have been born.
