View Full Version : Some stupid questions...

Just received 1.00RC1 !!!

Happy abou that, although it ruined my old DVD-rebuilder installation.
My fault, had to use another directory.....

But I have 2 main questions:

1) I've read a lot of mutiple angle problems.

- Are they now properly procesed ?
- Do they all get reduction in size ?
- Anything to pay attention to. (Just an old schrink user!)

Suppose you have a DVD while the total movie has constantly more angles.
Will this cause a problem, or will all angles be retained and reduced in size ?

2) The HC encoder.
I don't know about this one.
Some say it's better then CCE SP, some say not.
Can HC do multiple passes ?

3) Where can I find ALL HIDDEN SETTINGS for rebuilder.ini ?
I'm happy about the 1.00RC release, but missing a lot of options being able to set form menu's. Such as output-size, etc. (always was 4.31, now at 4.35, which is the same as shrink). But he it's just 40MB !

1) its not the final version, still some bugs, yes they are reencoded.
2) i dont use HC, but apparently it is good and can do multipass (at least 2 i think)
3) hidden settings arent "somewhere", you have to enter commands into the rebuilder.ini

About 2) : HC does "only" 2 passes.....

From a quality point of view, no encoder is perfect, CCE SP can't handle well very low bitrates and interlaced movies...HC does it well...in fact depending on the kind of movie and compression, you should use a different encoder, here is my own choices :
Very high bitrate : CCE SP 2.70 + AQM activated
Not interlaced , high bitrate : QMatop + CCE SP 2.70 + AQM activated
regular-low bitrates : AQE (or QmatOp + HC if AQE failed to render a good sizing...)

Question One can be answered by looking at the most recent posts. A quick scan of recent post titles would quickly lead you to relevant material.

By and large, Question Two depends on the movie, the obsever -- a myriad of variables. The question can't be answered definitively. I think you already know that...

You have asked Question Three repeatedly, and it has been answered for you repeatedly.

I can recommend reading through rockas' excellent help file from beginning to end, it will make things much clearer for a new user.

Yep, indeed I can't find bits and pieces of the so called hidden settings, but I was referring to some kind of 'manual' where I can find them all.
Searching a lot, you get some settings finally, but I wonder if there were kind of manuals.

On the help file, there's a section called "Menus and Settings". Inside it you'll find "Hidden Settings"...

I have a wonderful idea. Why don't you try reading the help file that comes with DVD-RB? It has all those things in it. And it answers most all of the other questions you have asked in this forum. It might be a good place to start. The "Search" function at the top of the page is also a good place for answers to questions that have already been asked and answered several dozen times.
